Being able to make your own sketchbook is such a great skill for an artist This method creates a totally unique book that opens flat for uninterrupted sketching, painting and drawing.

During this one day workshop, we’ll learn:
How to dye leather using spirit dyes to create unique designs
Cutting down full sheets of watercolour paper into pages
How to sew our book using a visible spine stitch
How to create a leather tie to keep our book securely wrapped

as well as lots of tips and tricks of the trade along the way.

The cost includes all professional tools and materials including goatskin leather. Everyone will leave with one unique handbound book to take away, and the skills to make more at home.

Suitable for beginners who are good with their hands, as well as those with some experience. This is perfect for booklovers, artists and designers looking to learn a new way to make books, or someone looking to make a very special gift for Christmas.

We’ll have refreshments to keep us going throughout the day as well as a lunch break. The studio is a short train ride from Glasgow Central, and has free on street parking.
