Meadow sketchbooks
Meadow sketchbooks
This summer I made a trip to visit my family in Orkney where. At the bottom of the croft there grows a big meadow full of grasses clover and meadowsweet. The plants grow taller than me, and when the setting sun shone through the swaying grasses I knew I had to pick some to take home and print with.
Back in Glasgow I made them into cyanotype prints - an analogue photography method that involves painting cover paper with a photo-sensitive mix of chemicals before laying the plants on top and exposing to the Glasgow sunshine.
I hand finished each one with delicate gold tooling, following the lines of the plants.
Each one of these is unique, and something special. Pages are of creamy, off-white UK milled paper, perfect for sketching, drawing and note taking
